Captive diet for Red-legged Honeycreeper:
14 grams of fruits - papayas, blueberries, oranges, pears, currants (soaked in water overnight) or 1/3 can fruit cocktail or diced fruits
5 grams of insects - mealworms pupae (cut into small pieces and served on top of bread and milk), fruit flies released in aviary or placed in a small jar lid
5 grams of bread with small amount of milk, crumble
5 grams of pound cake crumbled, place in a small flat container
5 grams of hard-boiled egg, crumbled on the bread with milk
5 grams of Vionate multivitamin sprinkled on bread with milk
Blossoms - fuchsia, verbena, canary-bush, orchids, honeysuckle, azaleas, impatiens, shrimp plant, grevillea, bottlebrush, passiflora, melianthus
