European Purple Gallinules {Porphyrio porphyrio}

These are definitely one of our favorite species here at Swanlake Farms. They have huge feet for their size, allowing them to stand on one leg on any flat surface while holding food to their mouths with the other foot (hand). They are colorful, friendly and very interactive. Always command extended attention from visitors who love to hand feed them They tame rapidly even when they are not handled daily as we do. They also have extensive, varied vocalizations. $ 750/pr $400 each
