A Copy of a painting of a Pair of Toucans from "The zoology of the voyage of H.M.S. Sulphur"
by John Gould in about 1836.
John Gould was aboad HMS Beagle with Darwin (when Darwin discovered evolution), and also painted Toucans for "Zoology of the Voyage of HMS Beagle"

This is a very large modern acrylic/pastel painting on Canvas
150 cm (tall) x 120 cm (wide). 5 feet x 4 feet approx.
It is a strong painting which is very well executed. It was painted by the artist, Max Leuchars. I bought it from his father in the Winter Art and Antiques fair in Kensington Olympia a few years ago.
